Description

The RhizoLoc is a Bauerfeind thumb-wrist orthosis specifically designed for carpometacarpal (CMC) joint osteoarthritis commonly known as thumb base arthritis and de Quervain’s tenosynovitis. These conditions cause significant pain at the base of the thumb, especially with pinching, gripping, and twisting movements, making daily tasks like opening jars, writing, or typing extremely painful.

The RhizoLoc stabilizes the CMC joint by immobilizing the thumb in a pain-free, functional position while leaving the fingers completely free for fine motor tasks. Its rigid thumb post reduces compressive forces at the arthritic joint, while the soft wrist strap provides additional support to the radiocarpal joint.

How to Use: Slide thumb into the thumb post and secure the wrist strap around the wrist. Ensure the CMC joint is positioned in a comfortable, functional abduction. Wear as directed by your physiotherapist.
